Reese Witherspoon began seriously pursuing her acting career after first attending Stanford University. The first successes of her acting career include films like Pleasantville and Election, but her role in the film Elle Woods was the turning point for her. Her role in Walk the Line earned her an Academy Award nomination in 2005. Water for Elephants this means war and Wild were among her most recent films and she was also considered for nomination to an Oscar. Witherspoon is also a hit in television, as she has been a producer and co-star on David E. Kelley's popular award-winning TV show Big Little Lies. The birth name of Witherspoon was Laura Jean Reese Witherspoon. Her birth date was 22nd of March 1976 in New Orleans Louisiana. Witherspoon is the daughter of two nurses and doctors. As a child she went to Harpeth College in Nashville Tennessee. In 1991, Witherspoon responded to a newspaper ad for extras a whim. At just 14 years old, she was the main character in her first film The Man in the Moon ( 1991). Witherspoon was contemplating quitting acting in her first year of college in order to pursue a medical career with her parents. Then, she appeared in TV shows such as House of Lies Whitney & Better Call Saul. Alongside her acting work as a performer, she's appeared in films like The Dictator or The Incredible Burt Wonderstone. Apart from her acting profession, she's an excellent painter, and has shown her work in several galleries.
