Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine has a unique style which combines R&B with gospel, soul music and R&B. Avery Sunshine's performances have been on Broadway and at festivals in Europe, as well as her appearance at the Democratic National Convention. The real name of Sunshine is Denise White. Although she is based in Atlanta, her roots are situated in Chester Pennsylvania. There she first began to develop the musical profession by as a singer and pianist at the church. She was a student at Spellman College in Atlanta where she began her training in the city's R&B scene. In 2005 she took on the role of the keyboardist in Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. In 2007, Grammy as well as Tony Awards-winning singer Jennifer Holliday sought her out to become the choral director in the production staged by Dreamgirls in the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Sunshine received national attention for four daily performances during the Democratic National Convention in 2008. Sunshine was chosen to perform at President Barack Obama's inauguration ceremony in 2009.
