Jeanie Marie Buss is an American businesswoman. Her current position is that of president of the Los Angeles Lakers, the NBA's majority owners. Buss is a native of California has an affluent family background. Her father Jerry Buss was a real-estate tycoon who later became the manager of the Lakers and other businesses related to sports. She felt abandoned emotionally after her parents split in the year 1972. Her family's business was started in the age of 19 and became the general manager of the Los Angeles Strings tennis team.
